CDsRaintime is an Italian band from Maniago.. They play metal (even death metal according to their myspace page). The album has 11 songs, of about 5 minutes each, and they are all very similar, except for a cover of Beat It by Michael Jackson. The overall production of the album is very good. The vocals are half sung, half shouted, very similar to In Flames’ singer. The voice of the singer is good, but unfortunately not groundbreaking. The first song of the album sounds cheesy, and reminded me of Europe (not that Europe’s bad, but hey, they did it better).
The music is ok, but again, not very groundbreaking; the song structure is very basic, and the odd change of key at the end of most of the song brings back this cheesy 80’s atmosphere. There are some keyborads that brings some gothic atmosphere, but it is not used wisely, and end up making all the songs sound the same. The instrument which is the most boring is the drums. Really boring drumbeats. I was surprised to hear a Michael Jackson cover in the middle of the album, which to be honest doesn’t blend in that well. I thought this was an easy commercial move, and in the end, the cover is dull.
On the overall, and this is my sole opinion, a very boring and uninspired album. Raintime takes no risk, and just jumps on the bandwagon of what works well at the moment. The songs take no risks, the structures are very basic, and remind me of old 80’s hard Rock songs, and do not push the concept in any interesting direction. Raintime est un groupe italien de Maniago.. Ils nous offrent un métal mélodique (voire même death si ll’on se fie à leur page myspace). L’album compte 11 titres d’à peu près 5 minutes chacun. Ils sont tous plus ou moins similaires sauf pour une reprise de Beat It de Michael Jackson. La production générale de l’album est très bonne. Tous les instruments peuvent être entendus clairement. Le chant est à moitié chanté et à moitié crié, et se rapproche de très près à la voix du chanteur de In Flames. La voix du chanteur est bonne mais n’est d’aucune manière originale. La première chanson de l’album sonne très “gnangnan”, et m’a instantanément rappelé Europe (pas que Europe ne soit mauvais, loin de là, mais ils le faisaient bien mieux). La musique est ok, mais une fois encore n’a rien à offrir de très original ; la structure des chansons est très basique, et les changement de tonalité à la fin de la plupart des chansons donne cette impression de Hard Rock FM des années 80 qui malheureusement n’apporte rien d’intéressant au groupe. Les claviers s’essaient à amener une atmosphère gothique rappelant Within Temptation par exemple ; cela dit cet usage n’est pas très bien pensé, car il fait sonner toutes les chansons pareil. La batterie n’offre que des rythmes basiques, et passe inaperçu dans le mix. Enfin, la surprise de l’album (malheureusement pas bonne) était la reprise de Beat It de Michael Jackson, qui pour être honnête n’a rien à faire sur cet album. Cette chanson sonne comme un essai maladroit à un perçage radiophonique commercial, qui malheureusement rend cette reprise inadéquat. Sur l’ensemble, et je le rappelle ceci est mon opinion personnel, « Lies and Flies » est un album ennuyeux et pas très inspiré. Raintime ne prend aucun risque, et se contente de suivre les sons de ce qui marche en ce moment. Les chansons manquent d’ambition, avec des structures identiques d’une chanson à l’autre, rappelant le hard rock des années 80, mais qui malheureusement ces 11 titres n’utilisent pas le concept à leur avantage. Je suis sûr que le groupe se trouvera des fans, probablement de jeunes adolescents qui n’ont pas connu la musique des années 80. They have realize a melodic death metal album in the way of swedish ones. Variable tempos, riff definitely put and nice melodies are the strong points of this band. « The absence » control his art notably in the game of both guitarists who take turns and end up merging. Far of melodic death like Dark Tranquility , « The Absence » offer their version of what could give another form of melodic Death . This result is probably owed to the diversity of their influence . Without being revolutionary, the group knew how to develop its own vision of the melodic death.
Après de multiples changements de line-up depuis 2003, le groupe se structure enfin en avril 2005 pour enfin sortire leur premier album sur « Metalblade» intitulé “From Your Grave. Ils sont de retour cette année avec un nouvel opus de pure death metal mélodique, façon suédoise. Tempos variables, breaks bien placés , et melodies concluantes sont les atouts de ce jeune groupe. « The Absense » maîtrisent leur art en profondeurs jusque dans le jeux de dialogue entre les deux guitaristes qui se relayent, rythmiques / solos, pour finalement fusionner et reprendre à l’unisson. Loin du Death mélodique à la « Darktranquility » auquel les groupes nous on habitué ces dernières années, The absence proposent leur version de ce que pourrait donner une autre forme de Death mélodique. Ce résultat est probablement dû à la diversité de leurs influences. Sans être révolutionnaire, le groupe a su développer sa propre vision du death mélodique.

Pour ceux qui recherchent du nouveau son brutal gore original tout en restant dans un concept intègre aux règles du Death Métal «Armamentarium » est l’album qui fera la différence avec les autre productions. Non seulement le son est bon mais il est surpuissant, incroyablement bien maîtrisé cet album est pure merveille. On y retrouve la puissance des premier Brutal Truth, avec des rythmiques entraînantes a la Bolthrower, et en plus la haine de Carcass … en gros c’est un sacré mélange des plus surprenant et efficace. Imaginez l’élite du Grind Death originel en un seul groupe, et encore plus sur scène ! Cela risque d’être un sacré carnage dans la fosse. Il seront chanceux ce qui auront l’occasion de vivre ça en directe ! Bien que l’album soit d’une violence imposante le groupe se paye le luxe d’incorporer des parties mélodiques qui permettent d’aérer les compositions et rajoute de l’intérêt à l’ensemble. Title: Structures of deathFormed since 1987 the group out his eighth album for for his twentieth birthday. We could wonder in which age they began because they do not seem so old . Fleshcrowl is a group of Death Metal which comes from Sweden . Useless to read their biography to realize it, because the sound of the album is typical . We cannot make a mistake. Fleshcrawl is a group which remains faithful to traditional Death Métal, therefore out of necessity it is not very original not on the whole but they have a very good musical charisma which encourages to listen to the album until the end .Rhythmics is supported by a death singing which invite in perfection, accompanied by a battery definite and improved with well dosed tempos .We guess that the group does not try forcing to innovate but prefers playing a music which invite them although and especially it like . What is all the more honorable and honest. Result the group exists for already 20 years and is not probably ready to go out of the stage. It can be that this this album will allow to the group to touch in broader public one? Anyway it has competences of it it is sure. He stays only you, amateurs of death, to show curiosity!
Formé depuis 1987 le groupe sort sont 8° album pour son 20° anniversaire. On pourrait se demander à quel âge ils ont commencé car ils ne paraissent pas si vieux que ça. Fleshcrowl est un groupe de Death Métal qui provient de Suède. Inutile de lire leur biographie pour s’en rendre compte, car le son de l’album est typique. On ne peut pas se tromper. Fleshcrawl est un groupe qui reste fidèle au Death Métal traditionnel, donc forcément c’est n’ pas très original dans l’ensemble mais ils ont un très bon charisme musical qui pousse à écouter l’album jusqu’au bout. Les rythmiques sont appuyées par un chant death qui convient à la perfection, accompagnées par une batterie précise et parfaite avec des tempos bien dosés. On devine que le groupe ne cherche pas forcement à innover mais préfère jouer une musique qui leur convient bien et surtout qu’il aiment. Ce qui est d’autant plus honorable et intègre. Résultat le groupe existe depuis déjà 20 ans et n’est probablement pas prêt de sortir de la scène. Peut être que cette cet album permettra au groupe de toucher à un plus large publique ? En tout cas il en a les compétences… c’est certain. Il ne reste qu’à vous, amateurs de death, de faire preuve de curiosité !
Machinemade God is a young group from Germany still be able known of big public. The band signs his second album on Metalblade. The public having received well the group during their tours of the first album, the quality-label renew this year a deal new with the group to offer us this new called opus "Masked". This album is quicker and more melodic than precedent and much more succeeds. They determine a big effort of composition on rhythmic guitars . Sound is powerful, singing is varied enough, they cross little in a throaty voice to masculine lyrics in type néo metal. The whole is accompany heavy and melodic rhythmics by moments. Having influenced by the death core melodic stage the group develops a rather personal style on the 12 titles of the album and has a go even at more atmospheric and more amazing titles such as « who, yew tree not us ». Intermission right in the middle of the very significant album. It what be able to mark down this group of others is the symphonic and discreet orientation which brings another dimension in their music . Very these supplementary elements that knew how to develop the group make a group of " Machinemade god " with an indisputable feature. Those who one loved the previous album will appreciate that even more. Which is a mixture of violence and emotions which confront one another and complement each other.
Machinemade God est un jeune groupe en provenance d’Allemagne encore peux connu du grand publique il signe tout de même son second album sur Metalblade. Comme quoi le travail finis par payer un jour ou l’autre. Le public ayant bien accueilli le groupe lors de leurs tournées du premier album, le label renouvèle cette année un nouveau deal avec le groupe pour nous proposer ce nouvel opus intitulé « Masked ». Cet album est plus rapide et mélodique que les précédent et bien plus aboutit. On constate un gros effort de composition sur les rythmiques guitares. Le son est puissant, les chants sont assez variés, ils passent d’une voix gutturale à des lyrics masculins un peu dans le genre néo métal. Le tout est accompagne des rythmiques pesantes et mélodiques par moment. Influencés par la scène death core mélodique le groupe développe sur les 12 titres de l’album un style assez personnel et s’essaye même à des titres plus atmosphériques et surprenants comme « who, if not us ». Entracte en plein milieu de l’album très appréciable. Ce qui peux démarquer ce groupe des autres est l’orientation symphonique et discrète qui apporte une autre dimension à leur musique. Tout ces éléments complémentaires qu’a su développer le groupe font de « Machinemade god » un groupe avec une particularité indéniable. Ceux qui on aimé le précédent album apprécieront encore plus celui-ci. Qui est un mélange de violence et d’émotions qui s’affrontent et se complètent.
Desaster

Desaster est probablement un des groupes le plus productif de la scène underground avec de multiples démos Ep et albums signés sur de nombreux labels et distribués dans tous les pays du globe. Ils signent cette fois ci sur un label de taille « metalblade » qui permettra au groupe de toucher un public encore plus vaste que ce qu’il connaît déjà. Certains penserons que cette signature détournera le groupe de son style qui lui est propre et qui a fait sa réputation. Rassurez vous il n’en est rien bien au contraire cet album se veut encore plus déterminé et destructeur que les précédents, le groupe s’exprime avec plus de hargne et de convictions. Desaster est au sommet de sa forme. Avec une production moyenne qui lui va bien, apparemment le groupe n’as pas sollicité de gros moyens auprès de son nouveau producteur et préfère rester intègre. Ce choix n’affecte pas la qualité de l’album car c’est comme cela que doit sonner un véritable groupe de thrash black aux influences : possessed, celtic frost , venom … En majorité joué dans des tempos speed, avec des rythmiques guitares autant efficaces que démentes, Desaster promet de devenir un des leader actif dans son genre si ce n’est pas déjà le cas. Cet album sera un incontournable qu’il faudra absolument se procurer.
