Dogpound
Title: III
The Swedes are back with them 3 ° album entitled simply « III », we understand that the title has a report with the fact that it is their third work. We shall be entitled has a selection of 14 title by put 25 titles consisted by the band according to "Mick Dalhqvist" (guitarist). Forcing there will be only a check, a variety, and each of Titles will have a good reason for being anticipates on the work. Thus here it will have no place for titles there fill hole which would have only purpose of filled space between some good titles, as it is too often the case lately. In the heavy style rather classic melodic metal, Dogpound does not innovate forcing. But they are very experimented in their kind and offer a work very up-market supported by a very good production which emphasizes the qualities of the band. The homogeneity of the album allows a relatively fluid and pleasant listening of the whole album. But a single listening is not enough for realizing the real potential of the Swedish.. This album will be the logical continuity of the precedent album " The Hellbum " ( 2003 ) and " To Night In The Gutter " (2005). These last one already make the fame of the band, "III" will only be confirming and stressing the fame of "Dogpound".Les Suédois sont de retour avec leur 3° album intitulé tout simplement III, on comprend que le titre a un rapport avec le fait que c'est leur troisième œuvre. Nous aurons droit a une sélection de 14 titre par mis 25 titres composés par le groupe d'après « Mick Dalhqvist » (guitariste). Forcement il n'y aura que du bon, de la diversitée, et chacun des titres aura une bonne raison d'être pressent sur l'œuvre. Donc ici il n'y auras pas de place pour des titres bouche trou qui n'auraient que pour but de comblé les vide entre quelques bons titres, comme il est trop souvent le cas ces derniers temps. Dans le style heavy métal mélodique assez classique, Dogpound n'innove pas forcement. Mais ils sont très expérimenté dans leur genre et offrent une œuvre très haut de gamme appuyée par une très bonne production qui met en valeur les qualités du groupe. L'homogénéité de l'album permet une écoute relativement fluide et agréable de l'ensemble de l'album. Mais une seule écoute ne suffit pas pour se rendre compte du véritable potentiel des suédois. Cet album sera la continuité logique des précédent album "The Hellbum" (2003) et "A Night In The Gutter" (2005). Ces dernier on déjà fais la renommée du groupe, « III » ne fera que confirmer et accentuer la notoriété de « Dogpound ».
Nightwish
Title: Dark Passion PlayAnd here is the long-awaited return of Nightwish, band that we do not present any more, so the fame became inescapable. But a change arose within the band and not the slightest because, Tarja who have make the voice of Nightwish gives up her place to the new opera singer Anette. Change difficult to take and very dreaded by their Fans, who saw in the formerdoor word of the band a real icon and the key element who made of nightwish the band that it was. But things evolve and can change to give something of step bad forcing, but différent. And it is the case here. The difference is not synonymic forcing of mediocrity and it is necessary to accept the band such as it is today. Through 13 proposed symphonic titles, 4 musicians are going to try to demonstrate that even deprived of their singer, they are capable of composing an album deserving of their past. To begin the choice of the singer far from being a disaster, stick perfectly on the style of this album and brings another dimension to the group. She manages rather very well and masters perfectly her .. The crossing, the rock voice and the difficult symphonic music has to marry together, is here a real success. The compositions are so effective always as previously, the titles are very well worked and very rich musically. But sometimes we touch the saturation because of the too present and intrusive symphonic parts. Nightwish opted for a variety musical as on "the islander" which evokes a mad traditional subject by comparison to « Cadence of her last breath » rather directed heavy metal with rhythmic guitars more rested. Altogether it is a success for the band. Far from the cathastrophe announced by the gossips, the band takes out there rather well and can even be proud to have known how to surmount the crisis.
Et voilà le retour tant attendu de Nightwish, groupe que l'on ne présente plus, tellement la notoriété est devenue incontournable. Mais un changement est survenu au sein du groupe et pas des moindre car, Tarja qui as fais la voix de Nightwish cède ca place a la nouvelle cantatrice Anette. Changement difficile à encaisser et très redouté par les fans , qui voyaient dans l'ancienne porte parole du groupe une véritable icône et l'élément clef qui faisait de nightwish le groupe qu'il etait. Mais les choses évoluent et peuvent changer pour donner quelque chose de pas forcement mauvais, mais de différent et c'est le cas ici. La différence n'est pas forcement synonyme de médiocrité et il faut accepter le groupe tel qu'il est aujourd'hui. A travers les 13 titres symphoniques proposés, les 4 musiciens vont tenter de démontrer que même privé de leur chanteuse, ils sont capable de composer un album digne de leur passé. Pour commencer le choix de la chanteuse loin d'être une catastrophe, colle parfaitement au style de cet album et apporte une autre dimension au groupe. Elle se débrouille plutôt très bien et maîtrise parfaitement son art, il n'y a rien à dire. le croisement , voix rock et musique symphonique difficile à marier ensemble, est ici un véritable succès. Les compositions sont toujours aussi efficaces qu'auparavant, les titres sont très bien travaillés et très riche musicalement . Mais parfois on frôle la saturation à cause des parties symphoniques trop présentes et envahissantes. Le groupe as opté pour une diversité musicale comme sur « the islander » qui évoque un thème traditionnel folk comparativement a « Cadence of her last breath » plutot orienté hevy metal avec des rythmiques guitares plus appuyés. Dans l'ensemble le parie est réussi pour le groupe. Loin de la cathastrophe annoncée par les mauvaises langues, le groupe s'en sort plutôt bien et peuvent même être fier d'avoir su surmonter la crise.
The Flower Kings
Title: The Sum of No EvilFlower Kings are a band from Red Bank, Sweden. They are playing a progressive rock / jazz type of music.The band is composed by: Hasse Fröberg: Vocals & guitars, Roine Stolt: Guitars, Vocals, Jonas Reingold: Bass, Marcus Liliequist: Drums, Tomas Bodin: Grand Piano & Electric Keyboards, Hasse Bruniusson: Acoustic & Electric percussion. This is not the Kind of music I usually listen to, but I did enjoy Flower Kings’ album. The album has only 6 songs, but it still manages to exceed one hour! The song average 10 minutes each, with one lasting 24 minutes! As you can expect, lots of instrumental bits in there! This album is very pleasant to listen to, with songs having loads of different atmospheres, with obviously loads of instrumental parts. The musicianship is very good, and placed forward in the band; they actually call themselves a “jam Band” on Myspace… so expect loads of solos… guitar, keyboards, loads of drum fills, well, instrumental stuff really. The bass lines are also very groovy, and there are also fretless bass parts as well. The Singers’ voices remind me of Spock’s Beard (so does the music, actually); however, loads of influences shine through their music: Pink Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp, and various other rock bands of the 70s/80s… however, the sound is very actual, and the mix of the album is very good. Every single instrument can clearly be heard, so whatever you play (if you are a musician). You’ll be able to hear perfectly any part. This album is very nice I find. The influences are well used, but not abused; I would recommend this band to any musician; however, it might be sometimes too much for non-musicians, as the album is musically dense… Go and check for yourself: www.myspace.com/thesumofnoevil
Les Flower Kings sont un groupe de Red Bank, Suède. Ils offrent un rock / jazz progressif. Le groupe se compose de: Hasse Fröberg: Chant & guitares, Roine Stolt: Guitares, chant, Jonas Reingold: Basse, Marcus Liliequist: Batterie, Tomas Bodin: Piano a queue & claviers, Hasse Bruniusson: Percussions acoustiques & Electriques.Ce genre musical n’est pas ce que j’écoute d’habitude, mais j’ai vraiment apprécié cet album. Il ne compte que 6 chansons, mais l’album dépasse tout de même 1 heure de musique! Les chansons durent en moyenne 10 minutes chacune, avec l’une d’entre elles dépassant les 24 minutes… Comme vous pouvez vous y attendre, beaucoup d’instrumental! Cet album est très plaisant à écouter, avec des chansons riches en ambiances et atmosphères variées, avec évidemment beaucoup de passages instrumentaux. Les musiciens sont très talentueux, et sont mis en avant dans ce groupe; ils se considèrent comme un “Jam Band” (groupe de bœuf) sur leur page Myspace… donc plein de solos: guitare, claviers, plein de breaks de batterie,… Les lignes de basses sont très groovy, avec des passages en fretless… Le(s) chanteurs me rappellent le chanteur de Spock’s Beard (ainsi que la musique en fait); Flower Kings ont beaucoup d’autres influences dans leur musique: Pink Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp, et d’autres groupe de rock des 70s/80s… cela dit, le son est très actuel, avec un mix très bon. Chaque instrument peut être clairement entendu, donc quel que soit votre instrument préféré, vous pourrez vous concentrer dessus sans trop de peine. Un très bon album, qui utilise des influences variées sans jamais en abuser… Je recommande cet album à n’importe quel musicien, cela dit, ce style musical peut être assez difficile d’accès à un non-musicien; la musique est très dense, avec de long passages instrumentaux qui ne sont pas toujours au gout de tout le monde… Allez écouter pour vous même: www.myspace.com/thesumofnoevil
Resistance
Title: Patents of ControlFor those who like the heavy speed in Judas Priest new formulate (Demolition) Resistance is the group to get it itself cd and especially, not to miss on stage. The titles are cut for the scenic performances, it is certainly there their key point. With rhythmic with tempos variable, led by a battery expresses, powerful which know how to place breakthere or it is necessary and to boost immediately by doubling the tempo, one can only follow and be allowed carry by this music which forges ahead. The singing can call back by moment "Riper" (judas priest), the sing brings the touch final which will give probably to the group the fame that it merit. Far from being that a simple singer by put so much the other one, we feel here a more important charisma. The voice want sincere and convincing. It is what misses mostly in the groups whoever well excel, one of the evil to distance itself and do not arrive at the fame for which they hope. American one put every element of their quoted for point out of a vaster public, and compete with the best group of heavy. The Resistance will not have pain to find and to convince his public with this second album. A delight from start to finish that we shall grow tired not of listening to in the time.
Pour ceux qui aiment le heavy speed à la Judas Priest nouvelle formule (Demolition) Résistance est le groupe à se procurer en cd et surtout, à ne pas manquer sur scène. Les titres sont taillés pour les prestations scéniques, c'est sûrement là leur point fort. Avec des rythmiques à tempos variable, menées par une batterie rapides, puissante qui sais placer les break là ou il faut et relancer aussitôt en doublant le tempo, on ne peux que suivre et se laisser porter par cette musique qui va de l'avant. Le chant peux rappeler par moment "Riper" (judas priest) il assure parfaitement son rôle de porte parole du groupe et apporte la touche final qui donnera probablement au groupe la notoriété qu'il mérite. Loin d'être qu' un simple chanteur par mis tant d'autre, on ressent ici un charisme plus important. la voix se veux sincère et convaincante. c'est ce qui manque le plus souvent aux groupes qui bien que excellent, on du mal à se démarquer et n'arrivent pas à la notoriété qu'ils espèrent. Les américain on mis tous les élément de leur coté pour se faire remarquer d'un plus vaste public, et rivaliser avec les meilleurs groupe de heavy. Résistance n'aura pas de mal à trouver et convaincre son public avec ce second album. Un régal de bout en bout qu'on se lassera pas d'écouter en boucle.
No Made Sense
Title: No Made Sense" No. made sense " is a young British band of extreme metal which proposes a music conceived by a mixture of musical kinds : Hard core, progressive metal and thrash metal with a death tone metal by moment, the alliance of these four completely different styles gives an explosive and completely unexpected result. We pass from a style to the other one on the same title with facilitated remarkable. On both titles which constitutes this EP of 17 minutes, the singer stays on a single register: aggressive vocals, more hard core than Death and the tone want aggressive. It is the element which homogenizes the band and links the diverse influences to form a personal style.This sample gives an outline of what of what is capable the group and reserves us quite a lot of surprises has to come The promising album is foreseen(planned) for this summer, 2008, thus has to watch closely …
« No made sense » est un jeune groupe britannique de métal extrême qui propose une musique conçue d’un mélange de genres : Hard core, métal progressif et thrash métal avec une sonorité death métal par moment, l’alliance de ces quatre styles complètement différents donne un résultat explosif et complètement inattendu. On passe d’un style à un autre sur un même titre avec une certaine aisance remarquable. Sur les deux titres que constitue ce EP de 17 minutes , le chanteur reste par contre sur un seul registre : Vocaux agressifs plus hard core que Death et le ton se veux agressif. C’est l’élément qui homogénéise l’ensemble et raccorde les influences diverses pour former un style personnel.Cet échantillon donne un aperçu de ce dont est capable le groupe et nous réserve pas mal de surprises a venirL’album prometteur est prévu pour cet été 2008, donc a surveiller de près…
